One very Full year of Travel

Dear Friends,
The story of Brady’s life now includes a lengthy chapter of international adventures in Europe and even the Middle East.

I just spent the past 5 weeks traveling through Israel, Holland, Belgium, France, and England before returning to the glorious West Coast of Canada: the place that is my Home.

The problem with traveling is that it’s addictive, and when you explore outside your neighborhood you begin to see how much there is to see and experience. And as you taste the diverse flavors of different cultures and places in our wild world you develop an appetite for new experiences.

But I feel full now. Like after I’ve eaten a great meal. I know I will want to ‘eat’ again, but right now, I am just thrilled to be back at Home and rediscovering the places and people that make this corner of the world what it is… My Home.

Soon I hope to discover just the right way to visually show you guys where I’ve traveled in the past year.

See I left Maple Ridge last year on May 26th to join a band on tour. And the most beautifully unplanned coincidence was that after my trip overseas I arrived home from England exactly one Year later to the day. One very full year of Travel. Touring with Atlantic all across Canada and the U.S. and even Guatemala. Then a personal pilgrimage with a Briercrest group through Israel, followed by a family reunion of sorts as I traveled across Europe meeting my Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins from my dads side of the family for the very first time.

Lots of Pictures, Lots of Videos, and LOTS of Stories…

I hope to share more from my travels on here in the upcoming days, weeks, and months. My current laptop setup wont allow for video sharing (tragic) but soon I will be upgrading my 6 year old laptop and will joyfully show my friends some of my many wonderful memories from my journeys this past year.

That’s it for now.
More to come for those curious enough to read. ☺

Love,

-Brady

'Awful' is Contagious

This isn't exactly the new direction I'm planning on taking with this blog, but consider this a fun break before I make a Real Post.

6 and a half MILLION views (and climbing).
This is one of the worst songs I've ever heard.
Enjoy.

The Resurrection of Brady’s Blog

It’s been about 5 months since I last blogged about anything, which means I’m failing terribly at my resolution to blog consistently.

I can’t even pretend like my life has been too busy, or that I haven’t had time, or that nothing interesting has been happening to me.

Truth be told, my life has been full of interesting stories to tell. It’s been quite the season of crazy adventures in lands far from home. The irony is that while I was doing a ton of exciting things that people would probably want to hear about, I said nothing. And now that I’m finally back home and, in comparison, have nothing exciting to speak of, I finally decide to speak up.

Let me make a promise to my friends who might find this blog…

I’m going to share more of my life on this blog.
And I’m going to start by telling some stories from my journey this past year.

See, I graduated from College in April 2010, and immediately joined a band that was touring North America. I’ve been all across the Eastern Provinces of our great country, and I’ve journeyed many hours in a van exploring the sights of our American neighbors to the South, and I’ve even ventured down as far as Guatemala with some friends for a month of ministry and life-changing experiences.

I’ve seen and done lots of things in this time. And I’ve been relatively silent about it all on here. I’ve been thinking today that perhaps that’s a selfish thing for me to keep all to myself.

It does take time and effort to share your stories with people… but it’s important, and it’s worth it. So I think I’m going to commit to posting a couple notes on here about my adventures since college, which also means… *deep breath* … I think I’m going to start telling people that I have a blog.

I’m so weird… I know. I’m ok with that too.
I know usually people create blogs for the very purpose of sharing things with people. They want readers, comments, feedback.
I feel I’ve had a different blogging experience than most.
This blog has mainly been a stash for me to write my own personal thoughts.

You know how a squirrel stores up food for the winter in some hollow space of a tree?
Well this blog was kind of like that for me. I’m the squirrel stashing my random (and sometimes nut-like) thoughts in this little space of the interweb.

But that’s all gonna change.

Instead of stashing ideas in a secret web space like some freaky blogging squirrel, I’m going to attempt to share this blog with people. People other than just myself.

Think of this blog as more of an open table with lots of empty chairs. This will be a place where I set down ideas (food for thought) in the hopes of sharing it with friends.

No longer the selfish squirrel. Now, I am the dinner host.
You’ve been welcomed here to share in all that I can offer.

That’s it.
My blog is resurrected. I reclaim it as a space for us to share.
Let’s see what I do with it, shall we?

Thanks for reading.
